Team History

The Wheaton Knight-Riders (FRC Team 5115) was created in 2013 at Wheaton High School by Andreina Delgado to give any high school student interested in gaining and/or enhancing their engineering skills and knowledge the opportunity to do so in a safe and constructive environment.


Timeline:

2013

  • Team 5115 was formed

2014

  • Designed and built a robot for the 2014 FRC game, Aerial Assist
  • Participated in the 2014 Chesapeake Regional Event
  • Attended Robotics Night at local middle school

2015

  • Designed and built a robot for the 2015 FRC game, Recycle Rush
  • Participated in the 2015 Chesapeake Regional Event
    • Won 4 games, lost 4 games, tied 1 game
    • Took the 2nd most autonomous points
  • Attended Maker Faire

2016

  • Designed and built a robot for the 2016 FRC game, Stronghold
    • Won the FRC Chesapeake District Northern Maryland Event
    • Received the Excellence in Engineering Award
    • Received the Safety Award
    • Received the Gracious Professionalism Award from Team 2377
  • Participated in Battle O’ Baltimore and made it to the play offs. Ranked 8th out of 31 teams

2017

  • Designed and built a robot for the 2017 FRC game, Steamworks
  • Participated in the FRC Chesapeake District Northern Maryland Event
    • Ranked 7th out of 39 teams
    • Made it past the first round of playoffs
  • Won the FRC Chesapeake District Central Maryland Event
    • Ranked 7th out of 38 teams
